Инициативата за издигането на такъв паметник е подета през 1898 г. от Поборническо-опълченската организация в София. Историята за построяването е разказана в документалната изложба, която може да бъде видяна от 27.02.2017 г. до 6.03.2017 г. в Столична библиотека.&lt;br /&gt;Изложбата може да бъде разгледана и в петък, 3 март 2017 г. и събота, 4 март 2017 г.</text>
